Tajikistan and the UNWTO Strengthen Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 05.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On June 2, on the sidelines of the 68th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe, which was held from May 31 through June 2 in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development Kamoliddin Muminzod met with the UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili.
The meeting focused on issues related to the expansion of cooperation in the field of tourism and other issues of mutual interest. In particular, one of the topics of the meeting was the involvement of international consultants of the UNWTO in the implementation of the Tourism Development Project under the Committee for Tourism Development.
In this context, the Secretary General was invited to take part in the 2024 Tajikistan International Tourism Forum, which is scheduled to be held on the eve of the Navruz International Holiday in 2024.
The invitation was accepted by the Secretary General, and it was noted that a certain day of participation in this forum will be presented during the meeting of the UNWTO General Assembly in Samarkand, which will be held in October 2023.
