Tajikistan Elected as a Member of the UNWTO Committee on Matters Related to Affiliate Membership for 2023-2027

DUSHANBE, 02.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – As part of the 68th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe, which lasts from May 31 through June 2 in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, Tajikistan was elected as a member of the UNWTO Committee on Matters Related to Affiliate Membership for 2023-2027.
The delegation of Tajikistan under the leadership of the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development Kamoliddin Muminzoda takes part in the meeting.
“At the 68th meeting of the 68th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe, Tajikistan, along with Spain and Uzbekistan, was elected as a member of the UNWTO Committee on Matters Related to Affiliate Membership for 2023-2027. This success plays an important role for the position of Tajikistan as an active member of the organization,” the Committee for Tourism Development said in a statement.
The Committee on Matters Related to Affiliate Membership, which began its activities in 2022, is a subsidiary body of the Executive Board and is considered an effective institutional network for partner members in accordance with Article 6 of the Charter. The Committee, along with important statutory functions, has a number of competencies to determine the strategy and main goals of partner members.
Today, on the sidelines the 68th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe, the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development is expected to meet with the UNWTO Secretary General.
