Government of Tajikistan Allocates 7.2 Billion Somoni to the Education Sector This Year

DUSHANBE, 01.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – This year, 7.2 billion somoni has been allocated for the education sector, which is 14 percent more than in 2022 and amounts to almost 19 percent of the annual state budget. It was said today by the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, during his speech on the Day of Knowledge at the Khatlon State Medical University of the Dangara district.
According to the President, the sustainable development of the education sector and the effectiveness of reforms depend on an increase in funding. The government increases funding for this key industry every year.
“Currently, two strategies have been adopted in the field of education; on their basis, the implementation of eight state programs continues. In this process, the government until today is taking all necessary measures towards the creation and reconstruction of educational institutions,” the Head of State added.
