Tajik National University, USGS Discuss Expanding Geology Cooperation

The leadership of Tajik National University and its Faculty of Geology met with representatives of the U.S. Geological Survey to discuss expanding cooperation in the field of geology, the university said.
The guests were briefed on the university’s scientific research, education system, international cooperation, and efforts to train highly qualified specialists.
The U.S. specialists were also informed about Tajikistan-U.S. diplomatic relations in the context of the university’s activities, as well as the role of state leadership in developing the socioeconomic system, science and education.
U.S. Geological Survey Director Mikhail Mark expressed readiness to further strengthen ties and expand joint initiatives, including organizing scientific seminars and conferences, as well as faculty and student exchanges.
