Sixth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in 2024 Will Be Held in Kazakhstan

DUSHANBE, 15.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the heads of state of the region stated that the primary task is to develop interaction in the trade and economic field and create favorable conditions for trade and investment, and the possibility of establishing cooperation to gradually increase the share of national currencies in mutual settlements between the states of the region will be considered. It was informed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin during a briefing following the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Dushanbe.
According to the minister, special attention was paid to the need to intensify cooperation in the field of industry and industrial cooperation, and it was also instructed to focus on increasing the efficiency of using the transit potential of Central Asia.
The heads of state spoke in favor of strengthening regional cooperation on issues of mitigating the effects of climate change and adapting to it.
“During the summit, it was especially noted the achieved high level of development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. This area has significant potential as an effective factor in strengthening mutual understanding between the fraternal peoples of the region,” said Muhriddin.
He added that the heads of state supported efforts to demonstrate examples of respectful, tolerant attitude towards each other’s national traditions and values by the countries of the region, as well as intensified cooperation in the exchange of experience in the scientific, technical and humanitarian fields and in the tourism industry.
“They emphasized the importance of consistently developing cooperation in order to jointly submit and promote applications for their inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List,” added minister.
According to him, the heads of state expressed strong support for efforts to ensure broad participation of women in all spheres of activity and supported the proposal of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to hold the Sixth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia next year in Kazakhstan.
