China’s Investment in Tajikistan Reaches $3.34 Billion

DUSHANBE, 17.11.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Farhod Vosidiyon took part in the 7th Silk Road International Exposition on November 16 in the Chinese city of Xi’an.
It was noted that over the past years, the development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and China has had a positive trend.
“From 2007 through 2023, Chinese investment in Tajikistan amounted to $3.34 billion. Of this, $1.2 billion is direct investment. Currently, more than 580 companies operate in Tajikistan with Chinese investment,” said Vosidiyon.
It was paid special attention to the development of interregional cooperation and the export of agricultural products from Tajikistan to Shaanxi province, including lemons, fresh and dry apricots, melons, grapes, persimmons, walnuts and pomegranates.
