Protocol of the Meeting of the Tajik-Turkmen Joint Commission Signed in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 29.11.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday in Dushanbe, as part of the twelfth meeting of the Joint Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the commission co-chairs — Sulaymon Ziyozoda (Tajikistan) and Tangryguly Atakhallyev (Turkmenistan) — signed the protocol of the meeting.
During the meeting it was emphasized that for the years of independence, a reliable basis for cooperation in the fields of politics, trade, economics, cultural and humanities was created between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, based on these achievements, cooperation between states was brought to the level of strategic partnership.
The parties also exchanged views on the implementation of the decisions of the eleventh meeting, which took place from November 9 through November 10, 2022 in Ashgabat.
Along with this, the parties discussed ways to expand economic, trade, technical, scientific and cultural cooperation and issues such as progress in the implementation of the road map to increase trade turnover between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan during 2022-2023, cooperation in the field of energy and water resources, including the import of petroleum products from Turkmenistan to Tajikistan, improvement of the environmental and socio-economic situation in the Aral Sea basin, cooperation in the field of transport, industry, education, sports and youth, food security.
