DUSHANBE, 16.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, a meeting of the Government was held under the chairmanship of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Head of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, during which the results of the economic and social development of the country in January 2024 were considered.

As it was emphasized in the speech of the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon, despite the complex situation of the world economy, the rate of economic growth of the country in January of this year was ensured at the level of 8.1 percent, but there are also serious shortcomings.

The Head of State emphasized that the activity of the Government of the country in this process is still inadequate. Therefore, due to an increasing complication of the situation in today’s world, it was deemed necessary to strengthen the progress achieved in the past year and to lay the foundation for significant achievements this year.

The Honorable President of the country Emomali Rahmon, recalling the alarming consequences of climate change, stressed that there were no precipitations last fall and this winter, which has a negative impact on the energy and agricultural sectors.

Therefore, the Government of the country was instructed to take practical measures to prevent the consequences of drought and other negative factors affecting the economic and social spheres, and to effectively use all available possibilities and resources to achieve the indicators of the development prospects in 2024.
