DUSHANBE, 06.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – “In the near future, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will achieve mutually acceptable and mutually beneficial results on border issues,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev yesterday at a briefing for journalists.
According to him, the meeting with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon focused on events planned for 2024. In first place now is the task of speedily completing negotiations between the government delegations of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on the border delimitation and demarcation, which are proceeding dynamically.
“The population of our republics has always had friendly contacts, communicated with each other and had trade relations. These traditions need to be further developed. Today I spoke about our intentions and vision in strengthening cooperation. First of all, the will and aspirations of the presidents of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov are the main factor in strengthening and promoting bilateral relations,” Kulubaev emphasized.
He explained that the presidents of the two states are confident that the existing problems will be resolved, and a new page is opening in Tajik-Kyrgyz bilateral relations.
