Volume of Loans in 2023 Increases by 32 Percent

DUSHANBE, 14.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The volume of loans issued in 2023 amounted to 19 billion somoni, which is 4.6 billion somoni or 32 percent more than in 2022. This was reported today by the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firdavs Tolibzoda during a press conference.
“Of the total volume of loans issued during this period, 43.1 percent went to the consumption sector, 14.4 percent to agriculture, 11.7 percent to foreign trade, 14.1 percent to industry, 7.1 percent to the service sector, 3.8 percent for construction, 5.8 percent for other areas,” he added.
It was noted that of the total volume of loans issued during this period, 37.8 percent, or 7.2 billion somoni, accounted for manufacturing entrepreneurship, which is more than 1.9 billion somoni, or 36.6 percent, compared to 2022.
According to him, the volume of microloans issued in 2023 amounted to 13.6 billion somoni, increasing by 29.1 percent compared to 2022.
