Tajikistan and Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector Explore New Avenues for Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 23.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On May 21, Tajikistan’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade and Country Governor of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Zavqi Zavqizoda, met with Khalid Khalafalla, Acting CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), to discuss new opportunities for collaboration.
The sides discussed potential avenues for cooperation, including the development of investment mechanisms through other stable local banks, Islamic leasing models, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and priority projects in Tajikistan’s real economy.
The Tajik delegation emphasized the country’s strategic focus on the textile industry, green energy, and logistics, proposing a technical mission from ICD to Tajikistan to assess the current landscape and formulate a detailed action plan.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the IsDB Group, held from May 19 to 22 in the Republic of Algeria.
