DUSHANBE, 21.06.2024 /NIAT «Khovar»/. On 20-21 in Almaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin took part in the regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This is reported by NIAT «Khovar» with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
The Ministers in a narrow and enlarged composition discussed the international and regional situation and its impact on the security of the CSTO member states.
At the end of the meeting, the Ministers noted the completion of the 11-year negotiation process and decided to approve the draft CSTO Targeted Interstate Program on strengthening the Tajik-Afghan border.
The Council of Foreign Ministers also adopted a number of joint statements, in particular, in connection with the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders, on the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes, on expanding cooperation in the field of international information security, as well as on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
The next meeting of the Ministerial Council will be held in November 2024 in Astana on the eve of the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
