DUSHANBE, 03.07.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 3, in the city of Astana, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorable Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

At the meeting, various aspects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, issues on the agenda of the next meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and separate regional and international issues were discussed.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and the opportunity to meet.

At the meeting, issues of development of cooperation in the commercial and economic sectors, agriculture, energy, air transport and security were discussed.

The parties expressed their readiness to continue coordinated activities in international and regional issues.

Another issue of the meeting was the holding of the next session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Dushanbe.

During the conversation, the work process in the field of digitization and the issue of allocating scholarships for the training of Tajik specialists in the field of information technology were discussed.

The parties also held fruitful discussions on other issues of interest.
