DUSHANBE, 17.08.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On August 17, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, participated and spoke at the third «Voice of Global South» Summit, which was held virtually under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Honourable Narendra Modi.
Leaders and representatives of more than 100 countries participated in the third «Voice of Global South» Summit, which was held under the theme «Strengthening the South for a sustainable future».
The conference discussed issues of climate change, population growth, food insecurity, financial debt, inequality and conflicts that directly affect developing countries, and delivered proposals on the challenges, priorities and solutions in the Global South, especially to ensure sustainable development.
In his speech, the Head of state of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, considered this conference a favorable basis for a constructive discussion of various aspects of the process of sustainable development and other pressing issues of the modern world, and called upon the Global South countries to take joint urgent actions and other necessary measures in terms of resistance to the mentioned risks and threats, adaptation to them and sustainable management of natural resources.
