DUSHANBE, 30.09.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 30, a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Head of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon.

At first the meeting heard the report of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Qurbon Hakimzoda, on the Program for the Development of Horticulture and Citrus Growing in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029.

It was emphasized that the main goals and objectives of the Program are to continue the development of the horticulture industry and supply the population with food products, the access of processing enterprises to raw materials, to increase the export capacity, reduce the dependence of the consumer market on imported products, create new jobs, expand «green economy», solve environmental problems, reduce emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and prevent climate warming.

President Emomali Rahmon gave specific instructions to relevant ministries and agencies and executive bodies of state power of regions, cities and districts for timely and effective implementation of the program.

Then the report of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin was heard about holding the United Nations Water Conference in the Republic of Tajikistan in 2028.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon instructed that, based on the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan «On holding the United Nations Water Conference in the Republic of Tajikistan in 2028» the Organizing Committee on holding this high-level conference be established at the expense of the responsible persons of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and relevant ministries and agencies.

Honorable Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, ordered that the Organizing Committee, together with the relevant structures of the United Nations, prepare and approve an action plan for holding the conference within 1 month, and submit a report to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The draft of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On Veterans» was discussed and sent to the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan for consideration.

In continuation of the work of the meeting, the drafts of the Action Plan for 2024-2026 of the Strategy for the development of social protection of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2040, the State Program for the development of theatrical art in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029, digitalization of processes in customs checkpoints and the system operator in the energy system of the Republic Tajikistan were discussed and relevant decrees of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan were adopted.

The report of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda was also heard on the indicators of socio-economic development prospects of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2026 and its main parameters for 2027-2028.

The President of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, based on the order of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, together with ministries and agencies, executive bodies of state authority of Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Province, regions, the city of Dushanbe and subordinate cities and districts of the country, as well as enterprises, institutions and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, to develop the prospects of socio-economic development of the republic in 2026 and its main parameters for 2027-2028. It was instructed to submit the draft prospects to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for consideration by June 1, 2025.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, set specific tasks for the members of the Government of the country and other state bodies to fulfill the instructions of the present meeting and the previous tasks. In particular, the Leader of the Nation drew the attention of officials to revitalizing the work of secondary vocational education institutions, enhancing vocational training and language training for adults and developing handicrafts.

The Head of State also gave instructions and orders to the Government of the country and other institutions regarding the good preparation for winter season, sufficient stock of food and fuel for all sectors, the expansion of construction works to welcome the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and other pressing issues.
