DUSHANBE, 27.09.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 27, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustam Emomali, first got acquainted with the progress of works completed in the building of the emergency-repair gates of the construction tunnel of the 4th layer, and launched the operation of the facility by pressing a button.

The emergency-repair gates of the construction tunnel of the 4th layer are located at a height of 1088 meters above sea level, and the foundation works have been completed taking into account the global standards of the energy industry.

The length of the gates is 12.5 meters, and they are made using the products of domestic enterprises for the installation of expensive equipment.

It should be said that the construction and assembly works on this facility started in 2019 and were carried out by the contractors of the Open Joint-stock Company «Tajikhydromontazh».

The construction and installation of steel and hydromechanical equipment in this section is 1150 and 936 tons, respectively.

Repair gates in hydropower plants are one of the important components of the facility and are used in cases of repair and accidents.

Honorable Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, visited the «A» branch of the tunnel after visiting the emergency-repair gates of the construction tunnel of the 4th layer at «Rogun» hydropower plant.

The construction tunnel of the 4th layer consists of «A» and «B» branches, their task is to distribute the volume of water and reduce the intensity of its flow.

The facility, excluding the outlet, is 1770 meters long, has a diameter of 15 meters, and has a water flow capacity of 3500 cubic meters per second.

In the area of the gates of the «A» branch, the work is continuing according to the project, and up to now, 1,271 cubic meters of concrete laying, 489 meters of welding, and the installation of iron sheets have been completed.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon, while familiarizing himself with the completed works and talking with the builders, expressed his satisfaction with the results of the work in this area, and gave specific instructions for the timely and compliant execution of the remaining works in the future.

It is worth mentioning that «Rogun» was built on the Vakhsh River, it is the largest of the Vakhsh power plants, and with a capacity of 3600 MW, it is also considered the largest power plant in Central Asia.

The first unit of the «Rogun» hydropower plant was commissioned on November 16, 2018, and the second unit on September 9, 2019, by the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon.

During visits, President Emomali Rahmon, calls on the workers to work faithfully and honestly, to complete every task assigned to them in such a way that it will serve the Tajik nation for centuries.

During the visit, the Honorable Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, highly appreciated the quality of the completed works and gave specific instructions to the officials to speed up the foundation works in other areas of the facility.

The President of the country called «Rogun» HPP one of the main sources of development of the national economy and ensuring a decent life for the country’s residents, and considered its full operation a great historical achievement for the Tajik state and nation.

The Founder of the Palace of Light – Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon, during the conversation with the builders, expressed his gratitude to the builders for fulfilling their civic mission and contributing to the construction of the building of the century — «Rogun» HPP, emphasizing that the names of each of them will be written in the pages of history with golden letters and will be an example for future generations.
