DUSHANBE, 24.09.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honorable Masoud Pezeshkian.
At the meeting, a set of issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran were discussed.
President Emomali Rahmon mentioned the significant development and expansion of friendly and brotherly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and stated that we are ready to take joint practical measures to strengthen them.
A lot of attention was paid to the expansion of relations in priority sectors of economy and trade, strengthening of scientific and educational relations between the two countries and development of cultural cooperation.
The long-term program of economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries until 2030, practical cooperation within the framework of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and the involvement of the Joint Investment Committee were considered important for the consistent implementation of existing plans.
At the end of the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon invited Honorable Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Tajikistan at his convenience.
