Tajik Foreign Minister attends annual meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries

DUSHANBE, 27.09.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 26, 2024 in the margins of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the Annual Meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs).
In his statement, Minister Muhriddin emphasized the importance of enhancing transit potential of landlocked countries, including the development of regional transport and trade corridors in accelerating the progress towards sustainable development.
Mr.Sirojiddin Muhriddin also touched upon energy, water and climate issues, calling upon the LLDCs to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Water Action Decade “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” and actively participate in the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation, which will be held in Dushanbe in May 2025.
