DUSHANBE, 27.09.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 27, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustam Emomali, familiarized themselves with the work process at Mine No. 17 of the largest hydropower facility of the century – «Rogun» hydropower plant.

At the Mine No. 17, alumina material is processed and stored by means of 8 modern devices and 3 enterprises of the Lot 2 contractor company «WeBuild» with the involvement of specialists of the Open Joint-stock Company «Tajikhydroelektromontazh».

Honorable Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon was informed that modern devices and equipment have been installed for the processing of alumina in 4 sections of Mine No. 17, through which this material is produced in sizes of 0-20, 0-50 and 0-200 millimeters.

The design capacity of each alumina processing device is from 50 to 100 tons per hour. Like other construction sites, skilled workers and specialists use modern machines and mechanisms to complete the processing and storage of alumina in Mine No. 17 at a high level and quality.

So far, 1.5 million cubic meters of alumina have been processed and stored in this mine.

Processed alumina is used in the core of the power plant dam for the purpose of reinforcement and waterproofing it. According to the project, the amount of alumina in the core of the dam is 7.5 million cubic meters, and 3.35 million cubic meters will be laid up to the level of 1110 meters.

According to construction standards and requirements, after the completion of concrete works in the core of the dam, the laying of alumina began in June of this year from the level of 984 meters. Currently, 67 trucks with a capacity of 40 to 90 tons carry alumina to the core area of the dam.

It was reported that since June, 350 thousand cubic meters of alumina were laid in the core of the dam from Mine No. 17.

In terms of processing and storage of alumina, 270 specialists are currently working in two shifts at Mine No. 17.

More than 6,200 employees and engineers and more than 950 modern equipment and mechanisms were employed by the OJSC «Tajikhydroelektromontazh» for the construction of the «Rogun» HPP in various parts of the power plant.

It is worth noting that the construction work in this hydropower facility of the country has not been stopped for a moment, the founders of the «Rogun» hydroelectric power station are working with great sense of patriotism, loyalty, courage and determination.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, expressed his satisfaction with the significant activity of workers and specialists at Mine No. 17 in the direction of alumina processing and stockpiling, and gave specific instructions to officials for high-quality preparation of alumina, timely supply of the core area of the dam with it, and strengthening of the construction work process.
