DUSHANBE, 05.09.2024 /NIAT Khovar/. On September 5, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, as part of his working trip, visited the lands of «TOJ-AGRO» LLC in Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni district of Khatlon Province and got acquainted with the state of field work.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, was first introduced to the possibilities of irrigation and gardens and vineyards created by the new method.

With the construction of 2 new water purification basins and the installation of 3 water pumping stations and water purification technology, it is possible to irrigate 50 hectares of land with the drip method. Prevention of soil hardening, better plant access to food and other factors are the main advantages of drip irrigation.

This year, farmers of «TOJ-AGRO» experimentally built an intensive-experimental apple orchard on an area of ​​1.5 hectares, which is currently in a good state of growth. With the improvement of experience, the area of ​​gardens irrigated with new technology will be expanded in the future.

Referring to the current state of the world community and the doubling of the world’s population’s demand for food, the Head of State considered it important to improve the opportunities for the production of agricultural products in order to achieve one of the four strategic goals of the country’s Government – ensuring food security.

In 2023-2024, taking into account the needs of the consumer market, 17 hectares of pitted varieties of grapes were planted based on modern practices. If with the traditional method up to 330 grape bushes were planted on 1 hectare, with the new method more than 1300 grapes are planted on 1 hectare, which is advantageous in several ways.

15 varieties of pitted grapes of high quality on the world market were imported from abroad and planted here after adapting to the climate of Tajikistan. Now the workers of «TOJ-AGRO» have gained experience in growing pitted grape varieties based on modern technology and in the future they plan to contribute to the expansion of the area of ​​such types of vineyards in the country.

Honorable Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, drew the attention of farmers to the wide use of existing opportunities and ensuring the increase in the production of competitive export products.

In «TOJ-AGRO» LLC 150 people are involved in seasonal and permanent jobs depending on the demand.

Workers are trying to increase the efficiency of the land in order to contribute to food security by introducing modern practices in production.

«TOJ-AGRO» has built 2 permanent greenhouses for cultivation of crops and citrus and tropical trees in the area of ​​3 hectares of land. Now the cultivation of tropical tree saplings is carried out experimentally. The workers plan to increase the production of tropical fruits, including mangoes, bananas and avocados, by adapting to the climatic conditions of Tajikistan.

The farm has a total of 75 hectares of arable land, of which 22 hectares are orchards and 50 hectares are vineyards.

A cold store with a capacity of 1000 tons of products has been built in «TOJ-AGRO» Limited Liability Company for storage of orchard and vineyard fruits.

There is also a honey processing workshop on the territory of the community.

A sample of farm-grown products was presented to the President of the country.

The Head of State guided the farmers to the effective use of the land, in accordance with the conditions of climate change, to establish the cultivation of plants, to introduce more and more modern practices in the production and development of the agricultural sector.
