President of Tajikistan attends the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State

DUSHANBE, 08.10.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On October 8, in Moscow, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, took part and spoke at the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The current state and prospects of cooperation within the Commonwealth were discussed at the meeting.
From January 1, 2025, the presidency of the CIS will be transferred to the Republic of Tajikistan, and therefore, our Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, during his speech, paid special attention to the presentation of the priorities of the presidency of Tajikistan in the Commonwealth.
In this context, it was emphasized that one of the main priorities of our presidency will be to start a discussion on improving the Commonwealth’s activities.
Our Head of State also pointed out that in the political aspect, work will continue to promote the positive image of the CIS in the world arena as a regional union.
It was stressed that special attention will be focused on promoting the economic, ecological, cultural and humanitarian agenda.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, stated that during our presidency, the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will have a special place.
The development of parliamentary cooperation was also named as one of the important priorities.
Honorable Emomali Rahmon highlighted that in the field of security, special attention will be paid to the strengthening of practical cooperation in the fight against security threats.
In his speech, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, expressed confidence that the decisions made at today’s meeting will stimulate multilateral cooperation in all areas of cooperation.
A number of decisions were signed by the heads of state based on the results of the meeting.
