DUSHANBE, 04.10.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On October 4, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the delegation of the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank.
At the meeting, the current situation and prospects of Tajikistan’s cooperation with the Asian Development Bank were discussed.
President Emomali Rahmon expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank for the implementation of various projects in our country.
The continued support of economic reforms, financing of the development of the energy sector and ensuring food security was considered an example of beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank.
An exchange of views was held on the issues of making the country’s economy resilient to threats and challenges and attracting more investments from development partners in various economic and social fields of the country.
Ensuring sustainable development, in particular, attracting additional capital to the fields of education, healthcare, irrigation, agriculture, transport, ecology, development of tourism, as well as the formation of a green economy and the continuation of digitization was deemed necessary.
In connection with the complex situation of today’s world, climate change and the intensification of their consequences, in order to prevent and reduce the impact of risks and the pressure of negative factors on the national economy, it was considered necessary to implement continuous reforms.
There was also a fruitful discussion on other topics of interest to the parties.
