DUSHANBE, 10.11.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On November 11, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, took part and spoke at the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in the city of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The President of our country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, first expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for the hospitality and the high level of holding this conference.
Our Head of State considered holding it as a timely and important step for discussing the situation in Palestine and Lebanon.
«The intensification of armed conflicts and the tendency to expand their territory, as well as the deepening of the humanitarian crisis in this region, have caused our deep concern,» — said President Emomali Rahmon.
It was emphasized that after more than a year since the beginning of the armed conflict in the Palestinian Gaza region, all efforts to create reconciliation between the warring parties have remained fruitless.
The Head of our State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, stated that «we once again call on the conflicting parties to resolve all disputes only through negotiations and through diplomatic tools, referring to the recognized methods and norms of international law, especially the United Nations Charter.»
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan supported strengthening the coordinating role of the United Nations and any other efforts of influential international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to stabilize the situation in the region.
In this context, all the countries of the region and the world were invited to take more effective measures in order to prevent a full-blown war in the Middle East region in the spirit of solidarity and trust.
It was said that a real solution to the Palestinian issue and ensuring a just and lasting peace in the region is possible only through the implementation of the resolutions of the United Nations on the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.
«Tajikistan supports the establishment of the State of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem on the borders of 1967,»- stressed the Head of our State Emomali Rahmon.
In the opinion of the President of our country, this is the way through which the Palestinian people can exercise their original national rights as an independent subject of the international community based on recognized methods of interstate relations.
In this context, support for further efforts to restart the multilateral political dialogue process in order to achieve a solution was considered essential.
It was considered necessary that, at the current stage, the member states of the Organization should take effective measures to provide necessary and urgent aid to the Palestinian people based on a targeted humanitarian plan.
Honorable Emomali Rahmon emphasized that Tajikistan has participated in this work as much as possible and will continue to contribute in the future.
The President of our country once again reminded of the proposal of Tajikistan voiced at the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations to adopt a special resolution on declaring the «Decade of Strengthening Peace for Future Generations», which is aimed at peacemaking and peaceful settlement of conflicts all over the world.
Concluding his speech, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon expressed his belief that the results of today’s conference will contribute to the positive process of addressing the Palestinian issue.
