President Emomali Rahmon becomes acquainted with project designs for 10,000 seats stadium and improvement of the water supply system in Abdurahmoni Jomi district

On November 9, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, got acquainted with the construction project of the central stadium of Abdurahmoni Jomi district, which is planned with 10 thousand seats.
During the presentation of the project, the Leader of the Nation was informed that the sports facilities will be built on an area of 21,000 square meters and will meet the requirements of modern times.
The central stadium of Abdurahmoni Jomi district will be built by the State Institution «Directorate of Construction of Government Facilities» of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the State Independence.
Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon guided the officials to the quality completion of the construction works and emphasized that the improvement of the conditions will contribute to the development of the sports industry and increase the achievements of the country’s athletes. Therefore, the quality completion of works in the festive facilities will be beneficial.
Another project that was presented here was the project to improve the water supply system in Abdurahmoni Jomi district of Khatlon Province. This project is implemented with Japanese grant aid and is implemented to improve the sanitary conditions of Abdurahmoni Jomi district by providing access to water for more than 50,000 people.
For the implementation of this project, the Government of Japan through JICA allocated about 14 million US dollars in non-refundable assistance.
The project was developed in close cooperation with SUE «Housing and Communal Economy» under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of the project, the town of Jomi and 7 villages of Abdurahmoni Jomi district will be supplied with water.
