On December 25, in the city of St. Petersburg of the Russian Federation, an informal friendly meeting of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held, which was attended by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon.
The head of our state, Emomali Rahmon, at the beginning of the meeting thanked the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, for the invitation and traditional hospitality and congratulated all the participants of the meeting on the upcoming New Year.
It was also noted that from the new year, the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States passes to Tajikistan. The head of state, Emomali Rahmon, expressed confidence that the chairmanship of Tajikistan within the framework of the concept and plan of activities proposed by our country will be fruitful with the assistance of other CIS member countries.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues on the international and regional agenda.
