Tajikistan, Azerbaijan agree to develop “green” energy, create joint ventures

DUSHANBE, 19.12.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The seventh meeting of the Tajik-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation headed by Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mukhtor Boboyev was held on December 18 in Dushanbe.
It was noted that friendly relations between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan due to wise policy of the heads of the two states — President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev are constantly strengthening and have reached the level of strategic partnership.
The meeting laid an important foundation for the implementation of the items of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed on May 23, 2024, as well as for the development of trade-economic, investment and industrial cooperation.
The commission meeting discussed issues on the development of trade, industrial, energy, agricultural cooperation, transportation, culture and education.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in developing green energy, establishing joint industrial enterprises, including aluminum production, oil refining and construction materials, as well as expanding cooperation in transport and logistics.
According to the parties, the implementation of these initiatives will help increase trade turnover, attract investment and create new jobs.
