Tajikistan Presents Joint Nominations for Inclusion in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

DUSHANBE, 03.12.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – Representatives of Tajikistan are taking part in the 19th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in the city of Asunción, Republic of Paraguay, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Representatives of the state parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage are also taking part in the session.
President of the Republic of Paraguay Santiago Peña and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay addressed the opening session.
During the session, Tajikistan presented joint nominations “Ceremony of Mehregan” and “The Art of Crafting and Playing Rubab” for inclusion in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The 19th session began on December 2 and will last until December 7.
