Embassy of Tajikistan Holds Briefing on Upcoming International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation in Kuwait

DUSHANBE, 21.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The Embassy of Tajikistan in Kuwait hosted a briefing on the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation, set for May 29-31, 2025, in Dushanbe.
The event was attended by Kuwaiti media representatives.
Ambassador Zubaidullo Zubaidzoda highlighted Tajikistan’s role in global water and climate issues, stressing the importance of the conference in strengthening international efforts to preserve glaciers and address climate change.
He noted that the conference is part of Tajikistan’s broader water diplomacy initiatives, including the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development» (2018-2028).
The Ambassador emphasized the growing threat posed by glacier melting to water and food security, particularly in Central Asia, and the need for international collaboration to tackle these challenges.
He also outlined the conference’s focus on sharing experiences and developing joint strategies.
In conclusion, the Ambassador reaffirmed Tajikistan’s readiness to host the event at the highest level.
