CIS Economic Council Meeting Held Under Tajikistan’s Chairmanship

DUSHANBE, 18.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 18, the 106th session of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took place in Moscow, addressing a wide range of issues related to economic cooperation among CIS member states. The meeting was opened and chaired by the Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hokim Kholikzoda.
Heads of delegations attending the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Natalya Petkevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov, Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of Armenia to Belarus and CIS statutory bodies Razmik Humaryan, Plenipotentiary Representative of Kazakhstan to the CIS Economic Affairs Commission Beketzhan Jumakhanov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Russia Esen Aydogdyev and CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev.
The meeting featured a broad range of delegations discussing key issues including stimulating economic cooperation, government support for scientific, innovation, and investment projects, joint initiatives in science and technology, development of Eurasian production and logistics chains, among other important topics for deepening cooperation within the Commonwealth.
In his remarks, Hokim Kholikzoda noted that the forum is held during Tajikistan’s chairmanship of the CIS, under which special attention is paid to scientific and technical development, innovation, green and digital economy, climate agenda, and interregional cooperation.
Decisions were adopted on all agenda items.
The next session of the Economic Council is scheduled for September 5, 2025, in Dushanbe.
