Six New Entities Created in the Sughd Free Economic Zone in 2023

DUSHANBE, 20.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – In 2023, six new entities began operating in the Sughd free economic zone (FEZ), bringing their total number to 35, of which 22 are engaged in production, construction, service and trade activities. It was reported by the head of the Administration of the Sughd FEZ Muhammad Muhammadzoda at a press conference.
“The volume of industrial products produced in the Sughd FEZ in 2023 reached 352.9 million somoni, increasing by 10.2 million somoni compared to 2022,” he noted.
Over the past year, the FEZ exported its products to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Turkiye, Russia and Afghanistan.
The volume of direct investments amounted to 32.0 million somoni, which is 8.3 million somoni more than in 2022.
In 2023, the total number of jobs in the FEZ was 910. During the year, 111 new jobs were created.
