Mining Industry a Priority in Tajikistan–UAE Industrial Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 17.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, met with the Minister of Economic Development and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, to discuss opportunities for expanding industrial and economic cooperation.
The two sides focused on joint projects in mining and metallurgy, particularly the processing of strategically important minerals and the modernization and development of aluminum production.
Key topics also included the manufacture of machinery components, establishment of industrial parks, growth of the petrochemical sector, and integration of advanced technologies in alternative energy.

Both parties emphasized the importance of accelerating the work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, and expressed interest in the early signing of a cooperation agreement between the respective ministries for 2025–2027.
The agreement is expected to provide a foundation for long-term collaboration, strengthen industrial capacity, and improve the investment climate in both countries.
Following the meeting, the sides stated that expanding industrial and investment cooperation would significantly contribute to economic growth, economic diversification, and technological advancement in Tajikistan and the UAE.
