Sirojiddin Muhriddin Participates in the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Tianjin

DUSHANBE, 16.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 14–15, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, took part in the Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China.
The foreign ministers engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding the preparations for the upcoming SCO Council of Heads of State, scheduled for autumn 2025, and exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation among SCO member states in light of emerging global and regional realities. The ministers also deliberated on pressing international and regional issues.
In his address, Minister Muhriddin presented Tajikistan’s position on key issues on the Organization’s agenda, emphasizing the importance of regional security and stability, sustainable economic development, and the practical enhancement of the SCO’s institutional effectiveness.
As an outcome of the meeting, the ministers adopted preliminary drafts of key documents, including the Tianjin Declaration of the Council of Heads of State, the SCO Development Strategy to 2035, as well as several decisions and joint statements aimed at strengthening cooperation within the Organization.
As part of the official program, the SCO foreign ministers were also received by the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, who reaffirmed China’s commitment to further deepening collaboration within the SCO framework.
