DUSHANBE, 29.08.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On August 28, 2025, an interview of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, with the media group of the People’s Republic of China — the newspapers «Genming Zhibao», «China Daily», the news agency «Xinhua» and the Chinese Media Corporation «CMG» (CCTV) was published in the mass media of this country.

During the interview, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, stated that cooperation between Tajikistan and China in all areas has reached a qualitatively new level — a comprehensive strategic partnership. The state visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China to Tajikistan last year was considered an important event in this process.

The Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in various areas of the economy, in particular, industrialization, energy, transport, investment, digital technologies and the implementation of green projects, and stated that the «One Belt, One Road» initiative has created new economic opportunities and infrastructure development for Tajikistan.

As reported in Chinese media, the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, called the President of China, Xi Jinping, “his friend,” and assessed him as a leader with great experience, broad outlook, and global influence. “The global initiatives of the Chinese leader are of great importance for peace, security, and the development of regional integration,” — the Leader of the Nation said.

On the eve of his visit to China and participation in the Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tianjin, the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, highly appreciated China’s chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, considering it a step towards strengthening the Organization’s role in the international arena.

At the same time, China’s practical contribution to ensuring regional security, which is the main axis of sustainable economic and social development in the region, was stressed. 
In this context, the President of the Republic of
of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, supported the process of cooperation to strengthen combat against security threats and dangers, in particular terrorism and extremism, radicalization and separatism, cyber threats, drug trafficking, and other manifestations of transnational organized crime.
