President Emomali Rahmon inspects work progress in water intake tunnel of Rogun HPP

DUSHANBE, 26.08.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On August 26, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, inspected the progress of work in the water intake tunnels No. 1 and 2 of the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant.
The tunneling and stabilization works of the water intakes are being completed, and cementing is underway. Metal pipes with a diameter of 7 meters are being prepared for the installation of iron and steel and concrete lining inside the water intakes. So far, metal pipes have been installed in the lower part of the water intake of unit No. 4 with a length of 64 meters and in the lower part of the water intake of unit No. 3 with a length of 16.2 meters.
Today, workers and specialists of the Rogun HPP, realizing the importance of this energy facility for the country’s bright future, are diligently carrying out the instructions of the Head of State and achieving high results every day with constructive energy.
The actual state of construction work shows that the creators of this fateful facility for the nation are working hard with a high sense of patriotism, and the goal is unanimously aimed at completing the construction as soon as possible.
Water supply tunnels, which are 6 in total, are considered one of the main structures under high pressure at the power plant. That is, water is transported to the power plant’s turbines through these tunnels. In view of this, the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, charged relevant officials of the country’s energy sector and workers and specialists to implement the construction in a quality manner in accordance with international requirements.
During his visit to the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant, Honorable Emomali Rahmon was accompanied by Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda and heads of relevant ministries and agencies.
