Emomali Rahmon, Masoud Pezeshkian vow to step up economic and energy cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran

DUSHANBE, 01.09.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 1, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honorable Masoud Pezeshkian in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President of our country, Emomali Rahmon, expressed satisfaction with the revitalization of contacts and meetings of the parties at the highest and high levels.
The parties paid great attention to expanding trade and economic ties, cooperation in the field of energy, international transportation, science and innovation, agriculture, healthcare, and other sectors of mutual interest.
The abolition of the visa regime between Tajikistan and Iran, which played a significant role in the development of cooperation in the field of tourism, trade, transport, culture and medicine, was positively assessed.
An exchange of views took place regarding the current complex, unstable and unpredictable situation in the Middle East region.
Much attention was also paid to strengthening cooperation within the framework of international and regional institutions.
