President Emomali Rahmon discusses priorities for further cooperation development with UNECE Executive Secretary

On October 14, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, on the sidelines of the International Investment Forum “Dushanbe Invest — 2025”, received the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), Ms. Tatiana Molcean.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UNECE were discussed.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that cooperation with the UNECE is an important component of Tajikistan’s foreign policy and the country’s sustainable economic development.
The President of the country added that this cooperation covers important issues of economic and social development, environmental protection, infrastructure improvement, as well as the implementation of the goals of the “Dushanbe Water Process” and the “Dushanbe Glaciers Preservation Process”.
The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, highly appreciated the Commission’s significant contribution to promoting the implementation of Tajikistan’s initiatives in the areas of sustainable use of water resources, trade facilitation, and development of a green economy.
It was emphasized that the Republic of Tajikistan is ready to continue its cooperation with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe to implement joint projects in the sectors of transport, logistics, certification, digitalization of statistics, and strengthening the regional economy.
The role of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) in strengthening regional integration and expanding interstate trade was also assessed as important.
Issues related to combating climate change were also among the important topics of discussion.
Finally, Tajikistan’s readiness to further expand comprehensive cooperation with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe was stressed.
