DUSHANBE, 02.09.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On October 2, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, during his working trip to Temurmalik district of Khatlon Province, put the central stadium into operation in the Kangurt village.

It was reported that the facility had been built by the State Institution “Directorate for the Construction of Government Facilities” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle and attracting young people to sports at a cost of more than 18 million somoni and has 6,000 seats.

Since August 2022, by order of the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, an initiative has been taken to build a modern sports and recreation facility in the center of Kangurt village, which was built and put into operation within 3 years with the involvement of local workers and specialists with high quality and compliance with architectural requirements.

The land area of the stadium is 13 thousand square meters, and floodlights have been installed in four corners of the facility for holding football games.

At the same time, 12 work and service rooms and other auxiliary facilities have been built in the two-story building of the stadium for guests, coaches and sports commentators.

With the commissioning of the new sports facility, 10 residents of this village have been provided with jobs.

Here, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, spoke with young athletes of the second league football team “Surkhob” and encouraged them to love sports and develop physically and mentally.

It is worth noting that in order to implement the goals of the global initiative of Tajikistan in celebrating World Football Day, modern sports facilities are being built in the cities and districts of the country, which will lay the foundation for the development and popularization of football and, in general, a healthy lifestyle.

In this regard, in the past 2 years, 8 playgrounds and 6 sports halls and 4 state institutions of sports schools have been built and put into operation in the villages and towns of Temurmalik district.

Currently, within the framework of the State Program for the Development of Football of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022-2026, the construction of 130 facilities is underway in Khatlon Province, including a stadium in the Vose district with 22,000 seats, Abdurahmoni Jomi district with 10,000 seats, Shamsiddin Shohin district with 6,000 seats, and the construction of a modern stadium with 5,000 seats in Vakhsh district.
