On December 29, a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Head of the Government of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the main issues of which were the implementation of the state budget in 2026 and attracting investment in 2026-2030.

At the meeting, the report of Fayziddin Kakhkhorzoda, Minister of Finance, on the draft Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on measures to implement the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the State Budget of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026” was first heard.

It was emphasized that the purpose of developing this draft resolution is to clarify the process of implementing the state budget, the effective and targeted use of budget funds, as well as to determine the obligations of ministries and state committees, departments, executive bodies of state power of regions and cities and districts, enterprises, institutions and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, related to the implementation of the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the State Budget of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026”.

The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, instructed the responsible structures to take necessary measures to ensure the quality of the state budget revenue, including by finding new sources.

Then, Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda, Minister of Economic Development and Trade, reported on the State Investment Program for 2026-2030, noting that the main purpose of this program is to attract foreign and domestic capital, including loan financing, grants and technical assistance, for the implementation of priority projects in various sectors of the economy in order to fulfill the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and their implementation will be aimed at the socio-economic development of the country.

In particular, attracting foreign capital for the implementation of priority projects was considered one of the main factors for the further development of the national economy.

A total of 864 projects were included in the Program, the amount of which is 15.7 billion US dollars.

It was emphasized that Tajikistan has abundant natural resources, including water, mineral, and rare metal resources, favorable climate and fertile lands, great tourism and human potential, and good investment opportunities.

In recent years, a number of significant reforms have been implemented in our country to ensure the development of sectors of the national economy and market relations, and the initiatives of investors and entrepreneurs to develop investment are comprehensively supported by the Government of the country.

In the continuation of the meeting, the draft Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Electricity and Heat Tariffs” was also considered and adopted.

This project was drafted and submitted to develop the energy sector and achieve the level of self-sufficiency in the financial and economic activities of the open joint-stock companies “Barki Tojik”, “Electricity Transmission Networks”, and “Electricity Distribution Networks”.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, gave instructions and assignments to the relevant structures to take the necessary measures to improve activities in the sector.

It was instructed to introduce new electricity and heat tariffs from February 1, 2026.

Also, the work plan of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for the first half of 2026 was approved.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, gave specific instructions to officials regarding the summing up of the country’s socio-economic development in 2025, issues of wintering, providing assistance to orphans, the homeless, the disabled and families in need, and comprehensive preparation for a worthy celebration of the international celebrations of Navruz and the 35th anniversary of state independence.
