On December 19, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met in Tokyo with the Chairman of the Interparliamentary Group of Friendship and Cooperation «Tajikistan-Japan», Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan, Keiji Furuya.
The President of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, assessed the contribution of the Interparliamentary Group in strengthening friendship and expanding cooperation between Tajikistan and Japan as important.
Great attention was paid to the implementation of various projects, including in the fields of energy, healthcare, science and education, transport, agriculture, and human resources capacity-building.
The parties paid attention to the development of cooperation in the field of information technologies, the establishment of technoparks, support for business incubators, startups, and the training of highly qualified specialists in the IT sector.
The humanitarian sphere was considered an important area of bilateral cooperation.
Other topics of discussion included the development of cultural exchange and increasing educational quotas for Tajik citizens in Japanese higher education institutions, as well as expanding study periods.
