President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon take part in the Central Asia + Japan Business Forum

On December 20, the «Central Asia + Japan» Business Forum was held in Tokyo.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the Prime Minister of Japan, and other heads of Central Asian countries participated in the business forum.
The purpose of this forum was to further strengthen economic, trade, and investment relations between the countries of Central Asia and Japan, with particular attention to the areas of green and sustainable development, digitalization, finance, human resources, and the development of a social system for business.
At the end of the forum, the Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Ms. Sanae Takaichi, delivered a speech and welcomed the heads of state and business circles of the countries.
As part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon to Japan, a number of new cooperation documents were signed as a result of the meetings and negotiations.
In particular, the Joint Statement of the Republic of Tajikistan and Japan on the further development of relations to create mutually beneficial cooperation, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Japan on the encouragement and mutual protection of investments, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan in the field of industry, the Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for 2026-2028, the Exchange Memoranda and the Grant Agreement on the “Project for the modernization of cargo scanning equipment at the Spitamen district customs checkpoint on the Trans-Caspian international transport route”, the Grant Agreement on the project “Construction of a 220 kV power substation for the city of Dushanbe”, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan on cooperation, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan on cooperation in the field of agriculture, and Memoranda on the “Project for Strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction in the Central Asia Region and the Republic of Tajikistan through the United Nations Development Program in Tajikistan”.
New cooperation documents were also signed on the sidelines of the Central Asia + Japan Regional Business Forum and the Tajikistan-Japan Trade Forum. Such as, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and “Masui Co., Ltd”, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Japanese company “Curtis Creek Co., Ltd.» on promoting the export of textile products of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Meteorological Engineering Center of Japan, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Tajik Technical University named after Academician M.S. Osimi and the Japanese company “Splice-Lab Co., Ltd.» in the field of training local engineers in the field of bridge construction and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Japanese Corporation “Sansei Corporation” for the reception of mobile medical vehicles.
In total, as a result of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to Japan, nearly 20 new documents were signed.
