A meeting of the Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan was held today under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Chairman of the Security Council, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.

The meeting was attended by permanent members and other members of the Security Council, heads of law enforcement and security agencies, leaders of several ministries and agencies, as well as staff of the Secretariat of the Security Council.

During the meeting, reports were presented by the heads of law enforcement agencies and security structures on the performance and activities of their respective institutions in 2025.

Taking into account the complex and rapidly evolving global situation, the President issued specific instructions to responsible officials to ensure state and public security, uphold the rule of law, combat crime, maintain constant combat readiness of the Armed Forces, and improve the service and living conditions of military personnel and law enforcement officers.

Attention was also drawn to the need for addressing existing shortcomings, particularly those related to official misconduct and other violations of the law. It was emphasized that decisive measures must be taken to strengthen border protection and to prevent and combat terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking, and transnational organized crime.

In addition, security agencies were instructed to intensify efforts in personnel training, proper selection and deployment of staff, and the development of highly qualified specialists capable of operating modern equipment and technologies. Priorities also include advancing the national defense industry, accelerating digitalization and cybersecurity measures, and fostering professionalism, patriotism, and a strong sense of national identity among military and law enforcement personnel.

Relevant decisions were adopted on the issues discussed during the Security Council meeting.
