Tajikistan Establishes Data Protection Center to Strengthen Cybersecurity

DUSHANBE, 09.02.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – The State Institution “Data Protection Center” has been established under the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of Tajikistan, the agency’s director, Khurshed Mirzo, told domestic and foreign media on Tuesday.
The center will focus on strengthening cybersecurity and protecting information in state systems and databases, overseeing data collection, processing, use and distribution, and implementing software protection measures, excluding information classified as state secrets.
Mirzo said the initiative aims to improve the reliability, transparency and stability of Tajikistan’s information systems.
