On March 31, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, paid a working visit to the city of Isfara, where he inaugurated a number of facilities of various purposes and got acquainted with the living conditions of the population.

The working visit began with a tour of an intensive and super-intensive orchard covering 600 hectares. During the visit, the Head of State planted fruit tree seedlings, inaugurated a water well, and visited an exhibition showcasing agricultural, industrial, and folk craft products.

At the exhibition, a wide range of agricultural products was presented, including high-quality seed varieties, fresh and dried fruits, particularly apricots, canned goods, legumes, cereals, and produce obtained through autumn sowing using favorable weather conditions and improved seeds.

The President was informed that, this year, farmers in Isfara, effectively utilizing available natural resources, have expanded cultivated land to 3,710 hectares. Their continuous efforts and adherence to modern agricultural practices have contributed to increased agricultural output.

As of March 1, 2026, total agricultural production in Isfara across all forms of farming reached 74,000 tons—an increase of 4,300 tons compared to the same period in 2025.

The exhibition, presented in a visually rich and engaging manner, reflected the abundant harvest and the extensive experience of the hardworking residents of Isfara in the efficient use of land. Handicrafts produced by local men and women—including gold embroidery, wood carving, and various traditional breads—demonstrated the creativity and diligence of the people.

President Emomali Rahmon provided practical guidance and recommendations to officials and farmers on increasing production capacity, building reserves for the autumn and winter seasons, and expanding orchards and vineyards using high-yield seed varieties.

During the visit, the Head of State also reviewed the activities of the “Istiqlol” intensive and super-intensive orchard, established on 600 hectares of previously unused land through the efforts of domestic entrepreneurs Aburizo Abdulahatov and Sorbon Savriddinov. He also officially inaugurated the Polesie water supply line.

The establishment of intensive orchards under current conditions not only ensures the supply of high-quality, environmentally friendly domestic fruits to the market but also plays a key role in enhancing the country’s export potential.

According to specialists, 12,500 Isfara apricot seedlings have been planted on 40 hectares, and 13,000 peach seedlings on 25 hectares. Irrigation of the new orchards is being carried out using drip irrigation technology. To date, drip irrigation systems have been installed on more than 65 hectares, with over 30,000 seedlings planted in the first phase.

Gardeners, guided by expert recommendations, are contributing to the Government’s strategic goal of ensuring food security by bringing new lands into agricultural use.

During a meeting with farmers, President Emomali Rahmon praised the initiative of entrepreneurs as exemplary and encouraged them to fully utilize the benefits and support provided by the Government.

It was noted that the establishment of such orchards is based on public-private partnership, with plans to further expand their area in the future.

In addition to horticulture, farmers in Isfara possess extensive experience in cultivating various crops and use their land efficiently and purposefully. The increase in production of environmentally friendly vegetables, grains, and fruits reflects their expertise, responsibility, and commitment to maximizing available resources.

According to statistics, more than 100 hectares of old orchards and vineyards were rehabilitated in Isfara in 2025.

The President was also informed about the construction of a 2,300-meter water pipeline from the Isfara River to the lands of the Khonobodi Dehoti Baland community, along with a reservoir with a capacity of 22,500 cubic meters. Plans are underway to build five fish ponds in the future. To ensure electricity supply, a two-kilometer power line has been installed, along with two transformers with capacities of 400 and 600 kilowatts.

During a cordial conversation, the Head of State highly commended the entrepreneurs for their efforts in establishing the orchard and water reservoir, describing their work as exemplary.

With the continued support of the Government, gardeners plan to construct a modern cold storage facility with a capacity of 10,000 tons, as well as a fruit processing plant, contributing further to food security and job creation.

The President also remotely inaugurated the “Amirkhan” orchard, established on 87 hectares of previously unused land in the Mohpari area by entrepreneur Manuchehr Amirzoda. He was also briefed on a broader project involving the development of 1,400 hectares of land for intensive orchards, construction of hydrotechnical facilities, a 1,000-ton cold storage facility, a fruit packaging workshop, and livestock breeding operations (2,000 small and 400 large livestock), creating 150 jobs in the Somoniyon area and in the village of Lakkon.

The Head of State provided further guidance and recommendations to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of these initiatives.
