The Days of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan will be held in Belarus in 2026, Tajik Ambassador Bakhtovar Safarzoda said in an interview with BelTA.
Safarzoda, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus and permanent plenipotentiary representative to the Commonwealth of Independent States, said cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries continues to gain momentum.
“In November 2024, the Days of Culture and Belarusian Cinema were held in Dushanbe. Preparations are currently underway for the Days of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan in Belarus. It is very important that the events will take place as the countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations,” he said.
The ambassador said the sides attach special importance to cooperation in education and personnel training, describing it as a key element of humanitarian ties and a foundation for long-term partnership.
He cited as an example the opening of the Center for the Belarusian Language and Innovative Technologies at Tajik National University in September 2023, aimed at promoting language training, academic exchanges and modern educational technologies. Rectors of universities from both countries meet regularly and sign agreements and joint action plans to expand inter-university cooperation, research and academic mobility, he added.
Safarzoda said that over the past three decades, Tajikistan and Belarus have maintained a high level of mutual understanding while giving their relationship “a new quality” in line with modern challenges and development goals. He expressed confidence that the accumulated experience would serve as a foundation for further deepening strategic cooperation for the benefit of both nations.
