Within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Coordinating Meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in Istanbul, Türkiye, the Chairman of the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan, Faizali Idizoda, met with the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, Marlen Mamataliev.

According to the Majlisi Namoyandagon, the sides discussed strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation and mutual support within international parliamentary platforms, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

Both sides underscored the importance of long-standing traditions of mutual understanding, friendship and brotherhood between the two nations. It was noted that these traditions played a key role in the signing of the historic Agreement on the State Border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The importance of the contributions of the heads of state of both countries to the development of good-neighborly relations was also highlighted.

The two sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening and expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation in the future.
