On June 20, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, during a working visit to Khovaling district, inaugurated the Tourist Village, a newly built tourist and entertainment center, in the village named after Ghaffor Mirzo.
The construction of the facility began in March 2025 and was completed with high quality within the specified time frame on an area of more than 1 hectare by local entrepreneur Abdullo Hasanzoda. During the construction work, 85 people were provided with temporary work, and after its commissioning, 20 local residents are provided with permanent jobs.
The Tourist Village is located in the southeastern part of Khovaling district, 9.5 km from the district center. It has a spacious canteen with 50 seats at a time, a flower garden with historical architecture, places for games and entertainment, and attractive walkways and alleys.
In recent years, the development of tourism as one of the important directions of the national economy has received special attention, and favorable conditions are being created for the presentation of the history, culture and unique nature of Tajikistan. In this regard, the Tourist Village was created with the aim of presenting the traditional lifestyle of the Tajik people, and the best examples of national architecture are embodied in it. The buildings and structures of the village are built in a traditional style, and their shape and appearance resemble ancient Tajik houses. The use of national elements in the design of buildings, carved porches, decorated walls and the beautiful surroundings have given this place a special charm and freshness.
The role of the Tourist Village in attracting domestic and foreign tourists is considered significant. The presence of such a complex will allow visitors not only to enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes of the region, but also to get acquainted with the ancient culture and civilization of the Tajiks. This initiative can increase the number of tourists, contribute to the development of services, the creation of new jobs, and the improvement of the local economy.
During the introduction, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, highly appreciated the level and quality of the work done, considering it a good example of using tourism opportunities and reviving national traditions. He also emphasized that the creation of such centers is of great importance for the presentation of independent Tajikistan in the international arena and can make a significant contribution to attracting more foreign tourists.
After the opening of the Tourist Village, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, was presented with examples of the achievements of the region’s farmers. The exhibition featured various agricultural products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes, honey, and other locally produced products. During the visit, special attention was paid to the results of farmers’ labor and the opportunities for the development of the district’s agricultural sector. It was emphasized that efficient land use and increased domestic production are key to ensuring food security.
