On July 1, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon received the Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund, Ms. Mafalda Duarte.
At the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation and the 45th meeting of the Fund’s Board of Governors in Dushanbe.
Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between Tajikistan and the Green Climate Fund, which is currently developing successfully.
Considerable attention was paid to issues related to the impacts of climate change, glacier conservation in mountainous regions, water resource management, and disaster risk reduction.
The parties welcomed the approval of the Fund’s Country Investment Program for Tajikistan and the new regional program «From Glaciers to Farmers.»
Cooperation in energy and agriculture was also discussed.
Both sides confirmed their interest in continuing and further expanding relations in all areas of mutual interest.
