On August 29, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the People’s Republic of China, Honorable Xi Jinping, which read:

We are deeply saddened by the news of the tragic consequences of the landslide and flood in the Xizang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China.
In connection with the consequences of these devastating natural disasters, I express my sincere sympathy and condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased. I wish all those injured a speedy and complete recovery.»
