Tajikistan, Turkmenistan discuss expanding scientific and expert cooperation

Issues related to expanding cooperation among scientific and research institutions, analytical centers and expert communities in Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were discussed Aug. 26 during a meeting between Khayriddin Usmonzoda, director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan, and Aimirat Kochmuradov, Turkmenistan’s ambassador to Tajikistan.
According to the National Information Agency of Tajikistan “Khovar,” the sides exchanged views on prospects for conducting joint research, preparing analytical materials and organizing scientific conferences and symposiums.
The sides noted that scientific cooperation is an important area of humanitarian cooperation, providing additional opportunities to exchange experience, knowledge and research findings.
They also discussed the need to expand contacts among specialists and researchers working on international relations, regional development, the economy, security and other topical issues. Regular exchanges of expert assessments and research findings, they noted, could contribute to a deeper understanding of developments in the region and on the international stage.
Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have significant potential for cooperation and are interested in expanding ties based on mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.
