GGP Project completes at the Republican Scientific Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery of Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 17.02.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The handover ceremony for “The Project for Provision of Medical Equipment for the Paediatric Unit of the Republican Scientific Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery of Tajikistan” was held on February 16 here in Dushanbe.
According to the Embassy of Japan in Tajikistan, the ceremony was held to commemorate the successful completion of the project that was funded by the Government of Japan through its scheme of “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)”. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Chie TAMURA, Head of the Economic Cooperation Department of the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Tajikistan and Mr. Jumakhon RAHMONOV, Head of the Center.
“For the realization of the project, USD 87,454 was provided to the Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery of Tajikistan in Dushanbe City. The center is located in the heart of the capital city and it annually provides healthcare services to more than 4000 patients coming from different regions of Tajikistan”, — says the embassy’s message.
As source reports, prior to the implementation of the project, the Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery was in need of necessary equipment, as the most part of medical equipment had been utilized for more than 30 years and become obsolete. With the successful project completion, the necessary medical equipment is now installed in the Center including echocardiography machine, cardiac monitor, coagulator, cardiac defibrillator with monitor, etc.
It is reported that during her speech at the handover ceremony, Ms. TAMURA remarked that the GGP projects demonstrate the friendship and cooperation between the people of the Republic of Tajikistan and the people of Japan. Mr. Jumakhon RAHMONOV, in turn, has expressed his gratitude for the support of creating improved environment that benefits all the patients and workers of the hospital.
